Four U.S. Warehouse Openings in August

Costco is set to open four new warehouse locations in the U.S. this August. The stores will be located in The Villages, Florida; Richland, Washington; Allen, Texas; and Spring Valley, Nevada. The Florida location opens on August 6, followed by the Washington site on August 8, while the exact dates for Texas and Nevada are yet to be confirmed. These additions are part of a larger global expansion taking place throughout the month.
Part of Broader Growth Toward 29 New Stores

These U.S. launches are part of Costco’s 2025 goal to open approximately 29 new warehouses around the world. The plan includes three store relocations, resulting in a net gain of 26 brand-new openings. Costco’s long-standing strategy is to launch 25 to 30 new locations annually, usually splitting them evenly between domestic and international markets. This consistent growth model reflects Costco’s efforts to serve both established and emerging markets.
Recent U.S. Openings in 2025

Earlier in 2025, Costco expanded further with store openings in Brentwood and Highland in California, Sharon in Massachusetts, Genesee County in Michigan, Prosper and Weatherford in Texas, and Stuart in Florida. These additions have supported strong sales growth, with the company reporting an 8% year-over-year increase in net sales for June. That month, Costco reached over $26 billion in total revenue. The new locations are helping to drive foot traffic and meet growing consumer demand.
Strategic Market Selection and Data‑Driven Choices

Costco’s expansion targets growing communities and areas with limited access to warehouse clubs. The Richland location in Washington caters to a region known for agriculture and wine production, while Spring Valley serves a suburban area outside Las Vegas. These store placements are based on population trends, consumer demand, and logistical efficiency. Costco continues to invest in regions where it sees long-term growth potential.
Global Position & Scale in 2025

As of mid-2025, Costco operates more than 900 warehouses globally, including over 620 in the United States. The company is actively growing its footprint in countries such as Canada, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, and Australia. In addition to new store openings, Costco is also enhancing services at existing locations—upgrading food courts, expanding gas stations, and offering new in-store perks. These moves help reinforce its reputation as a value-driven retail leader.
