Deep Brands debuts Thai food line

Addressing a Surprising Market Void (Image Credits: Pixabay)

Deep Brands unveiled Tem Toa, the first frozen food brand dedicated exclusively to Thai cuisine, targeting a notable gap in American grocery freezers.[1][2]

Addressing a Surprising Market Void

Thai cuisine ranks as the third most searched for in America, yet 91 percent of consumers reported they could not or did not make it at home.[2] In 2025, nearly three-quarters of frozen Thai sales came from pad Thai offerings by multi-cuisine brands, leaving little room for specialized, authentic options. Tem Toa steps in to change that dynamic.

Kiernan Laughlin, general manager of Deep Brands, highlighted the opportunity. “Tem Toa finally gives Thai cuisine the focus it deserves in the frozen aisle and enables consumers to enjoy authentic Thai at home without having to order takeout or spend hours trying to make a complex, unfamiliar dish,” Laughlin stated.[3] The brand emphasizes premium ingredients and traditional cooking methods to replicate restaurant quality.

Four Chef-Driven Entrees Lead the Charge

The initial lineup features four entrees crafted from scratch with freshly ground spices and bold Thai flavors. Each dish incorporates high-quality elements, such as rice noodles sourced directly from Thailand.

Chicken Pad Thai combines juicy chicken and vegetables with those noodles in a savory peanut sauce accented by lemongrass for citrus notes. Vegetable Pad Thai swaps in tofu alongside vegetables, peanut sauce, soy, and lemon juice. Green Curry Chicken pairs chicken and vegetables with jasmine rice in a coconut milk-based sauce infused with herbs, spices, and green chili peppers for an earthy spice. Red Curry Chicken offers a similar profile but with red chili peppers delivering a rich, nutty heat.

  • Chicken Pad Thai: Chicken, vegetables, Thai rice noodles, peanut sauce, lemongrass.
  • Vegetable Pad Thai: Tofu, vegetables, rice noodles, peanut sauce, soy sauce, lemon juice.
  • Green Curry Chicken: Chicken, vegetables, jasmine rice, coconut milk, herbs, spices, green chilies.
  • Red Curry Chicken: Chicken, vegetables, jasmine rice, coconut milk, herbs, spices, red chilies.

Target Launch Paves Way for Broader Reach

Tem Toa debuted at Natural Products Expo West 2026 in Anaheim, California, at Booth 5444, adjacent to the Deep Indian Kitchen display.[2] The products roll out chainwide at Target stores nationwide starting April 5.

Whole Foods Market and Giant Eagle will follow later in the year, expanding availability. This phased approach builds on proven retail strategies from sister brand Deep Indian Kitchen.

Deep Brands Expands Global Flavor Portfolio

Based in Union, New Jersey, Deep Brands formed in 2026 as a platform for authentic global cuisines. It houses Deep Indian Kitchen, America’s top frozen Indian brand, and now Tem Toa.

The company, owned by Deep Foods Inc. since 1977, commits to made-from-scratch quality using traditional recipes. Proceeds from sales support the Deepkiran Foundation, aiding education for underprivileged children in rural India. This launch marks a strategic push into underserved flavors.[3]

Key Takeaways

  • Tem Toa pioneers dedicated Thai frozen meals with authentic ingredients like Thai-sourced noodles.
